Dr. Bankirer is currently the Dean for Pacific Oaks’ San Jose Campus. Prior to joining the community at Pacific Oaks, Dr. Bankirer held the position of president at the Denver School of Nursing. In this role and throughout her career, she has been leading initiatives in the use of media and technology to engage students. Her innovative vision of learning, including the development of alternative and off-campus degree programs, earned Dr. Bankirer her senior leadership positions as President at Argosy University at both the Chicago and Denver campuses, Vice Provost at Central Michigan University, and Academic Vice President at Jones International University. She has been published in various journals of higher education which showcased her passion of distance learning and the importance of technology in continuing education. She further developed her expertise in accreditation and competency-based learning in her role as Senior Academic Officer of the Western Governors University during their implementation.
Dr. Bankirer earned her Ph.D. in Adult and Higher Education Administration from the University of Wyoming and her M.Ed. in Adult and Continuing Education from Colorado State University.
