Iris Hobson DH.Ed received her master’s degree in nursing education from The University of Texas at El Paso and her doctorate in education for health professions from A.T. Still University. She is presently one of the program coordinators for the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Dallas Nursing Institute. Prior to joining Dallas Nursing Institute, Dr. Hobson was faculty and a member of the distance education committee at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. Her background includes developing distance education courses for the health professions.
Dr. Hobson is also a licensed family nurse practitioner and practices in several clinics. Her experience includes neurology, chronic pain and managing substance abuse. Additionally, she has participated as a Nurse Education Consultant for Nursing Pearson Solutions item Writing and Test Construction Review.
Dr. Hobson’s teaching strategy is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential in the nursing field. Her passion is to have students experience positive learning experiences that encourage them to practice professional nursing with skill, confidence, and compassion and for students to become life-long learners.
