Balance in Context: Examination of Tokyo is a cross-disciplinary, two-month online course that culminates in a six-day, study abroad experience in Tokyo.

Can I receive credit for the course toward my degree? What about an elective?
This is a 3-credit course. These credits may or may not be applicable to your particular program. We recommend speaking to your Academic Advisor or Chair prior to enrolling.

Can I apply for financial aid?
You may be able to apply financial aid toward the cost of the course. Several criteria may need to be met (e.g. does the course count toward your degree?). Please discuss with a Financial Advisor prior to enrolling.

What will we cover in class?
Students and faculty from five colleges and universities will meet to study the topic of balance as it relates to disciplines including psychology, education, law, health care, and culture. Here, you will have the opportunity to add international exposure to your resume while forging relationships with professionals from around the world.

What are the eligibility requirements?
To be eligible for this program you must be in good standing with your institution and take part in an interview with a faculty member for recommendation for a seat.

How much is the fee for the course?
The fee for students is $2,800.00. For non-students (alumni and employees, with institutional approval) please inquire with the Global Engagement team for fees and guidelines.
The fee covers the cost of all in-country accommodations for the entirety of the on-ground excursion (December 3 – December 8, 2019). The fee also covers supplemental travel health insurance, all in-country activities, most meals, and in-country transportation.
The fee does not include, passport or any related documentation expenses, related travel medical expenses (eg. immunizations, vaccinations, etc.), flights to and from Tokyo, airport transport, tuition (for students), and any other personal incidentals.
