While one of the world’s poorest countries at independence in 1966, Botswana has since arguably become one of the world’s development success stories. Despite economic advancement, citizens of Bostwana grapple with the same socio-cultural, economic, political, and contemporary challenges facing countries within their continent.
About the Speaker
Dr. Mpho Pheko, Associate Professor & Department Chair of Psychology, the University of Botswana (Dr. Pheko is a distinguished J-1 scholar at TCSPP (The Chicago School of Professional Psychology), who earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Cape Town. She is a mother, activist, and politician, as well as the Spokesperson for the Botswana Congress Party).
